We get a lot of questions as movers. One of the most popular is how much does the removal service cost. Professional movers are more affordable, saving you money and time. If you’re moving to Dubai, there are three types of things that will influence how much it costs to hire movers and packers in Palm Jumeirah: storage, packing, and how much you need to move. Let’s take a look at some real-world cost examples to help you prepare for your next move.
Average moving costs for typical homes in 2021
At Cassidy’s Moving & Storage in Palm Jumeirah, we charge based on the number of movers and packers in Palm Jumeirah and how many hours are required.
Here are some examples of costs for 2021*
Typical 2-bedroom townhouse: Starting at $870 – $1,015 from June to August, and slightly less in the off-season.
Typical 2-bedroom apartment with elevator: $870 – $1,160 from June through August. A slow-moving elevator can add time.
Typical 3-bedroom home: Starts around $1,600 from June through August.
Typical 4-bedroom home: Typically averages around $2,300 from June through August.
- Please note that we need to visit your home and do an accurate estimate to give you an accurate cost for your unique situation. Due to COVID-19, some costs have changed, call or email your representative to get the latest pricing.
In September, these rates drop significantly.
These are averages for local moves only. Trucks, pads, and moving equipment such as dollies are included. Packing and storage are not included.
Packing costs for a typical 3-bedroom home are typically between $2,000 and $3,000 for a complete package.
Again, your cost may be much cheaper if we only do a partial package, but to be sure, talk to your moving consultant. You can learn more about our packing services here.
How our Dubai moving costs work
Here are some of the things that will affect the final cost of your move when selecting a reliable moving company.
Most people move from June to August, and that’s when costs are higher. September through June is significantly cheaper. It’s also much easier to get the exact moving date you want with less notice.
- Number of people moving
Generally, we decide how many movers you need to avoid overtime costs that arise once the move takes 9 hours or more. Prices will fluctuate according to demand. For hourly rates, please contact Cassidy’s.
For 4 bedroom homes, we usually require 4 movers in Palm Jumeirah.
- Time required to complete your move.
Once we get started, we keep track of the time it takes to load the truck, get to your new home and then unload.
- Minimum minimums
We have a 4 hour minimum for local moves.
- Travel time
If you live in the main part of Dubai (from Kanata to Orleans to Barrhaven), we charge ½ hour to get to your home and ½ hour to return after the move is complete.
If you live outside of Dubai, (for example, if you live in Casselman and are moving to Embrun), we charge your actual travel time.
Want to save on your move?
If you’re tired of DIY moves, but still want to save on your move, here’s the secret: it’s all about being prepared. Make sure everything you say you’ll pack is packed. Here are a few things to consider:
Dismantle furniture, such as beds, yourself if you can. The movers in Palm Jumeirah will pack and pack all your furniture.
Dismantle the workbenches thoroughly and make sure tools are packed separately from the worktables. Even the strongest movers and packers in Palm Jumeirah can’t bring a fully loaded steel tool cabinet from the basement!
Prepare all the tools you’re bringing into your new home. Moving a refrigerator involves several steps. Washing machine drums need to be locked before moving to keep them stable.
Unfortunately, many of our customers say they’ll have everything ready, but when the day arrives, many things are left unpacked.
Moving in the off-season (September through June) can also mean you save hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on how much stuff you have.
