The history of Google’s anti-spam algorithms

In 2012, Google launched the “Penguin” SEO filter, used to penalize sites with fraudulent SEO practices, which do not respect Google’s recommendations in terms of netlinking in particular. The search engine warned unscrupulous advertisers that they should see a change in their site’s SEO. Indeed, all the links will be re-evaluated. Sites that use link spam will therefore see changes in their rankings in the SERP.

For what efficiency?

Google has therefore announced that it will no longer hesitate to cancel links, deemed to be fraudulent. These links will therefore no longer be taken into account by the Google algorithm.

The search engine does not necessarily seek to impose penalties for the slightest link deemed suspicious. However, we can imagine a fall in terms of SEO for sites that have based their online visibility on mass and low-quality netlinking.

What to do after the Google Link Spam Update?

This algorithmic Link Spam Update will only affect sites with low SEO quality. If your website produces quality content and relies on quality netlinking, it cannot be affected by this Google update.
